April
Slaughter Ranch Tour
April 14
We will tour Texas John Slaughter’s Ranch the San Bernardino east of Douglas. John Slaughter served in the Confederate Army and came to Cochise County, AZ after the Civil war. He was probably the most historic and memorable of Cochise County’s Sheriffs. Not fond of Judges or trials, he seemed to clean out Cochise County of its “bad guys”. His ranch, east of Douglas has been kept very much as it was when he and his family lived there in the late 1800s. We will be privileged to have the ranch historian join us for this tour. In addition to the day tour on the 14th, the historian will be doing a presentation at the Little Gallery at the Americana Hotel on Friday, April 13th, to give us even more history before we head out to the ranch the next day. This is definitely a lucky way to spend a Friday the 13th. Come join us. This tour includes transportation, a picnic lunch, entry fee, historian and a great time!! We depart from the Americana Hotel at 7:30 AM and return at about 5:00 PM. $90.00 per person.
