Ambos Tours of Arizona20th Anniversary
Quality Tours from 1999 – 2019
Ambos Tours of Arizona is based in Nogales, Arizona and offers travel and tourism to destinations in Arizona, our neighboring states of Chihuahua and Sonora, and throughout Mexico.
Manager and tour host Linda Rushton has led tours for more than 20 years in Arizona and Mexico. She is a very knowledgeable guide who makes intrastate and international travel a fun and interesting experience.
Linda came to Arizona more than 30 years ago, and knew immediately that this is where she was meant to be. She arrived as a banker but quickly adapted to Arizona’s natural environment and wide-open spaces.
Having camped and hiked much of the state, she is well-versed in the environment and is especially interested in Southwest history.
In 1999, when Linda was in her mid-fifties, the company she was working for tanked. At that time, her question was “What do I do when I grow up?”
She decided to start a tour company for historic and environmental tours for seniors. She then went to work for Southwest Custom Tours in Phoenix for three years, leading tours to Central and Northern Arizona.
After making the decision to move to Nogales, Arizona she became a tour guide for Road Scholar (aka Elder Hostel) and soon became the Tucson group leader and tour guide. Meeting people and showing them Arizona was her greatest joy.
Since then, she has created Ambos Tours of Arizona, LLC. Ambos meaning “both” and in this case means both Mexico and Arizona.
Ambos Tours is a small-group, bilingual tour company that offers tours to the Mexican states of Sonora, Sinaloa and Chihuahua, including great sites like: the Father Kino Missions; the Cananea mine; Mata Ortiz, the pottery capital of Mexico; Paquime; along with birding, nature and well-rounded history tours of both Mexico and Arizona.
Our guides are also bilingual historians who want to teach you the unique relationship between Mexico and the United States.
When you participate in one of our tours, you will be entertained and educated! We live at the border and know it well – it is a great place to live and tour. Come join us!
